The Story of Sandra
Our little Sandra was brought to the orphanage sometime right before we arrived in November 4th, 2015. We were at the
orphanage meeting all the kids. Darla was holding a baby and put her in a crib in one of the baby rooms. When she turned around
there was this tiny little girl standing there staring at her. She picked the little girl up and felt a connection to this little one with a
blank stare. Darla brought her over to me and said "look at this little girl Isaac." I came close and she reacted and did not want me
to hold her. through much interaction with her, Darla saw little glimpses of personality as she pursed her lips when she tried to
make her smile. Darla told God, if you make her and Isaac love each other and connect I will know you want us to adopt her. Sure
enough, she would come to me and snuggle up real close and we fell in love with this little girl right from the start. We prayed for
2-3 months asking God to confirm this is what he wanted us to do. We made the commitment to this little girl and to God and
have heard various things about how long and arduous the process of adoption in Haiti can be. We are in it for the long haul and
are so excited to love on this precious girl for as long as we live. We are unsure at this point how long the whole process will take,
but we are prepared to be in Haiti as long as it takes. Please pray with us that God will miraculously move the process along
quickly so we can bring her to the US to meet everyone.
